LET ME RISE ~ by Wendell Berry
When I rise up let me rise up joyful like a bird
When I fall let me fall without regret like a leaf.

Oh my gosh, I love Wendell Berry! He motivates me to recycle! 😉
“Nothing exists for its own sake, but for a harmony greater than itself which includes it. A work of art, which accepts this condition, and exists upon it’s terms, honors the creation, and so becomes a part I it.”
Love that.
Hope you’ve had a fruitful time at the conference!!
what books do you have of his? i’ve always wanted to read me some wendell…
Well, first off, the acorn picture above blows my mind. 🙂
Secondly, Wendell, hmmm, where to begin. His various essays and poems are great. He’s all about protecting the “sanctity” of small town farmers, so his books really focus in on first half of the 20th century, which is aweeesome. Love love love the 20th century, all of it (not that it’s so distant or anything…).
Anyway, I’m rambling. Okay, “Jayber Crow” and “Hannah Coulter”… That’s where I would start. You’re gunna loooove it.
I hope you are feeling better! Clear liquids are always your friend. 🙂
