If Grace Is An Ocean.
by Chris Kamalski
David Crowder is unabashedly one of my favorite musicians/lyricists/creatives in the whole world. DCB releases a new album this September, but the first single, a cover of a John Mark McMillan tune called ‘How He Loves,’ came out last week. Like always, the combination of powerful lyrics and the band’s take on it have wrecked me. The lyrics:
He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all
He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves. We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If His grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
And Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…
“If grace is an ocean…we’re all sinking.” Spinning in my heart….
Plus, the cover for the single is all the guys in suits! Fantastic…
I just listened to the song:
loves like a hurricane
grace like an ocean
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets…
Yes…………
soo soo good!
